The anti-Mursi Tamarrod (rebel) Campaign has collected over 22 million signatures to withdraw confidence from President Mohammad Mursi and hold early presidential elections, Al-Masri Al-Youm reported. In a press conference, the campaign called upon Egyptian people to assemble on Sunday in Tahrir Square and in front of the Al-Ittihadiya Presidential Palace to rally for this cause, and to lay the road map for the 30 June protests. The Egyptian daily said that Shura Council Member Nadia Henry announced during the press conference that she and the other secularist members of the council were resigning. Al-Masri Al-Youm quoted the campaign spokesperson as saying that the 30th of June protests were another wave of the revolution that started on 25th of January in 2011, and stressed that they must be peaceful ones. “Today millions of citizens have rebelled against the tyranny of the Muslim Brotherhood,” and Egyptians are “on their way to achieving their goals of bread, freedom, and social justice,” the spokesperson said, indicating that “ Mursi has lost legitimacy after millions of signatures calling for his removal were collected, and after he refused to respect the Constitution and the law.” | ||||
