The report from daily telegraph says that the forces of the opposition count one hundred thousand rebels, 15 thousands of them belong to Al Qaeda, whereas 30 thousand are fanatics and the non fanatic Muslims are a minority, they count less than 30 thousands. These rebels belong to 1000 factions that fight against each other and have taken control of the natural resources of the country in northern Syria . This information from official sources is not innocent, either it tries to act on the decision of the western countries to support the opposition in operating a regime change, or it will give the same western forces a pretext not only to stop supporting these rebels, but also to turn against them and target them.
This happens at a time when the Syrian army is achieving great success on the ground, especially in the vicinity of Damascus, in the eastern Ghouta where the Syrian forces have retrieved the region on Shebaa fully, and have opened the road to the Damascus airport and to Sayyida Zeinab, and are tracking the armed rebels and have captured number of them from Syrian, Saudi and Emirate nationalities. All this after seizing great quantities of weapons that were kept in special locations. The same success was achieved in Barza, which is one of the neighborhoods of Damascus of which the army took control after destroying an anti air craft missile stand and after killing a great number of thugs who fled in great numbers in front of the Syrian army . In the Palestinian camp of Yarmouk, battles are still going on. And on the boarders of Maaloula, the Christian village, the Syrian army is making progress after killing 40 armed rebels. On all fronts, the Syrian army is progressing and the thugs are fleeing in front of the army. Also Tadmor -close to the Iraki borders-has been taken by the Army which opens the way to control al Raqqa close to the borders with Iraq
This achievement makes Syria stronger and maybe for this reason, the French minister of foreign affairs, Laurent Fabius, said today that a date for Geneva 2 should be set and all participants should be compelled to attend. Minister Lavrov said that there is no enforcement of the UN chapter 7 on Syria and nothing of this sort has been agreed upon with the US.
Experts say that this signing of the Chemical Weapons Convention on behalf of Syria will not lead to something like the UN inspection of Iraqi sites during the 90s or after that, where UN inspectors were infiltrated by spies and would roam all over the place and complain that Iraqis were not cooperating well with them . These days are over and this will not be repeated in Damascus where the chemical weapons would be under international supervision and then probably destroyed , this destruction will cost millions if not billions; remains to find out who will finance this project.
The report of the UN on the chemical weapons did not specify who used them but said that they might be locally manufactured and that they were launched by missiles . Many countries have used this report in order to accuse the Syrian regime of the attack that the opposition had carried on according to many reliable sources..
According to writer Ibrahim Allouch, Jordan is under great pressure now .On one hand, Saudi Arabia is pressuring Jordan financially and materially to get involved in the war against Syria, by providing a base for assaults on Syria that will be carried on by the opposition. Jordan has been hosting CIA officers who were training Syrians and then sending them to Syria via Dar'a. Also, the US army has deployed patriot missiles in Jordan for the protection of Israel in case there is war. But there's a strong local opposition in Jordan for all this, and even if Jordanians oppose by principle the Syrian regime, they are against any foreign intervention in Syria. This stand pressures King Abdullah not to get involved further and get caught in the Syrian issue as a result .
Hassan Rouhani has lately communicated with Obama according to sources, and the European Union is on its way to lift the embargo on Iranian ships. But there will be no meeting between Rouhani and Obama in new York City at the UN Quarters .
In occupied Palestine, the Israeli army had evacuated the Arabs living in the Aghwar in the Madkhoul region and families have slept in the open for the reason that the army is carrying on military maneuvers that cover the whole area. On the other hand, Israelis broke in today in the camp of Jenin and killed one person after being confronted by Palestinians . The Zionist Settlers are now daily breaking in the Aqsa Mosque and the project of sharing the mosque between Muslims and Jewish settlers is on its way, and this time it is sponsored by Knesset representatives who are accompanying personally the settlers and sharing in the breaking in , something that has not happened before.
