Erdoğan on Way to International Criminal Court
A complaint about PM Erdoğan has been sent to the International Criminal Court, due to the Sarin precursors sent to al-Qaeda, trucks full of weapons captured en route to Syria, terror camps in Turkey and more.The Turkish PM Erdoğan has been backed into a corner due to cases including Sarin gas precursors and a truck loaded with rocket warheads and missiles being found by security units in the Adana province of Turkey, incidents which, according to a criminal charge sheet filed against him, he was responsible for. The charges may lead to Erdoğan being judged in the International Criminal Court. PM Erdoğan, who may share the same fate as Serbian leaders Slobodan Milošević and Radovan Karadžić, appeared to be struggling to reassure the world of his good intentions in a statement during his visit to Japan, where he said, “Fighting against terrorism should be globalized.”
However, numerous world states including the Syrian Government have alleged that Erdoğan’s AKP government actually provides support to terrorism. At the same time as Erdoğan makes statements about the need to fight terrorism, he has found himself facing the prospect of a journey to the international courts to defend himself from the accusation of ‘supporting terrorism’. The Foreign Ministry of Syria had asked the United Nations to launch an investigation, citing the justification that Erdoğan had been ‘providing support to terrorism’. The current Permanent Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the United Nations, Bashar Jaafari, also went on the record to say, “the Turkish authorities are systematically offering help in supplying arms to terrorists operating in a number of districts in Syria. They support groups which carry out terrorist attacks every day against the Syrian people, government buildings, and other infrastructure facilities.”
After the Syrian Government issued a complaint about Turkey to the United Nations, another similar application was sent to the European Court of Human Rights by the Syrian opposition in the November 2013. Haytham Manna, the General Coordinator of the National Coordination Committee for Democratic Change in Syria, which is accepted as the official Syrian opposition in the Western world, declared that he had filed a lawsuit against PM Erdoğan and said in his statement, “I am accusing Erdoğan of facilitating the entry of terrorists to Syria. I have sufficient evidence to convict him.”
Erdoğan made a speech in a conference hosted by the Nikkei newspaper during his visit to Japan, saying, “We personally observed how terrorism consumes a country and public, in its own place. Terrorism is currently one of the world’s most important issues, and it is one which most urgently needs a solution. While capital and business are being globalized and the world is being transformed into a global village, fighting against terrorism should also be globalized.”
The Evidence to Bring Erdoğan to the Dock
Aydınlık Daily presents the main evidence which will open the path for Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan to be tried at the International Criminal Court for supporting terrorists.The Syrian government has made an appeal to the United Nations to open a trial against Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan for ‘giving support’ to Islamist terrorists waging jihad in the war-torn nation of Syria. Aydınlık newspaper has compiled a list of just some of the evidence which could be used against the PM at the International Criminal Court.
Sarin Accusation
Information that chemicals seized in Adana were being used in the production of Sarin gas is included place in a criminal charge sheet filed by the prosecutor’s office against five Turks and the Syrian national Haytham Qassap, a member of al-Nusra. The six men were arrested during the same operation in which the chemicals were seized. In the 132-page criminal allegation, it was declared that the weapons would be used in terror operations in Syria, with it written that, “Following the understanding that [the weapons] would be used by militants linked to Ahrar-i Sham and the al-Nusra Front, a connection is visible between the chemical weapons/chemical material and the al-Qaeda terror group.”
On the 7 November 2013 the criminal charge of the operation launched in Adana was presented as evidence in a text from the Damascus government to the UN. In the text, it was expressed that “The statements of the defendants constitute definite evidence that terror operations were conducted for the procurement of weapons of mass destruction on Turkish soil to be sent to armed terror groups, amongst the al-Qaeda, in Syria.”

Rocket launchers, mortar rounds and missile heads were all found on a TIR container lorry stopped on the 7 November 2013 in Adana after a tip-off came in that it was carrying drugs. It was documented in the police report that the weapons on the lorry were being taken to an al-Qaeda camp.
MİT’s weapon-laden TIR
In early January, a TIR belonging to the Turkish intelligence service TIR laden with weapons was stopped by the gendarmerie in the Kırıkhan district of Hatay at the order of prosecutor Özcan Şişman. Şişman and the gendarmerie accompanying him were prevented from searching the truck, with the intelligence officers present claiming that its contents were a “state secret”. It was later claimed by government officials that the TIR was taking aid to Syrian Turkmens, a claim that was refuted by Syrian Turkmen groups who declared, “We do not receive aid from Turkey.” The judge was removed from the case, and the TIR in question is now missing.
The borders have become penetrable
Turkey has opened its border with Syria to terrorists. Syrian terrorists, who have been settled in camps and whose entry to the country has not been given permission even by MPs, are freely entering and exiting Turkey across the border. In a letter of complaint about Turkey to the UN, Syria’s UN representative Jaaferi declared, “The government of Turkey is providing the passage for armed groups from the regions of Bab al-Hawa, Fawaz, Ayn El Bayda, Hırbet El Coz, Reyhanlı, Ghazali and Atima. Turks are supporting groups carrying out daily terrorist attacks against the Syrian people, on state institutions, and infrastructure works.” At the end of his letter, Jaaferi listed the names of 546 Yemeni jihadists who had entered the country via the Turkish-Syrian border.
