A Zionist settler was killed on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, Israeli defense ministry said on Sunday, with security sources saying it was apparently caused by a mortar round fired from Syria.
"A contractor for the ministry of defense was just killed in the Golan Heights. It's currently being investigated," a ministry source told AFP on condition of anonymity.
Sources said two others had been injured in the incident.
