Russia Today (RT) correspondent Sophie Shevardnadze conducts an interview with ex-Minister and current advisor to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Bouthaina Shaaban, about the conflict in Syria and potential ways to solve the crisis. She states that the BRICS countries can take a firm position on the Syrian issue similar to that of Russia in order to prevent the continuation of supply of arms to terrorists and to initiate dialogue with opposition members in Syria.
Shaaban also states that at the heart of this conflict is another long-standing issue, the Arab-Israeli conflict with all its ramifications from the issue of Palestine and the occupation of its land to the issue of the Golan and weakening Iran too.
